“I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” – New York Times Anonymous Op-Ed Essay

I have been asked for my opinion about this one, and didn’t want to provide a flippant response while typing on my little phone keyboard, so it was time to dust off my blog and do this properly.

Let me begin how this essay begins.  They state that they are, “Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration”.

By definition, this is treason!

Definition of treason: “the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.”

If you are “Part of the Resistance” inside ANY presidential administration, this can be considered to be an attempt to overthrow the government.

What we have here is a person working high in our government with the intent to overthrow our president.  Probably why they wish to remain anonymous.

Setting that aside though, let’s dig deeper in the essay.

many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

Not only is this person committing treason, but has admitted that there is a larger group within the government purposely trying to undermine our president!

The traitor pauses to state that, “many of its [the administrations] policies have already made America safer and more prosperous

And later in the essay they write, “There are bright spots…effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more

They are admitting that the current administration is doing a great job running this country, yet later on they claim that “the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective

Didn’t they just show that his “style” has been very effective?

Now they come to the heart of their opinion of the president.

The root of the problem is the president’s amorality.

Apparently, because our president does not meet this person’s moral standards he must be overthrown.

I have news for you buttercup, there is not a moral requirement that our politicians must pass in order to be elected.  If there were, probably EVERY politician would have to leave office.

If this is the “root of the problem”, then it’s a non-issue.

They go on to say, “the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives

Here it is, the real root of their issue.  This president doesn’t tow the party line!

Really? The Horror!  That’s EXACTLY why he was elected!

Sometimes he agrees with Republicans, and sometimes he agrees with Democrats.  That’s what a good president SHOULD be doing!

Meetings with him veer off topic and off the rails, he engages in repetitive rants, and his impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.”

I’m not a fan of the president as someone I would aspire to be, nor can I say that I am not embarrassed most of the time with his tweets and comments.

That being said, he has been the most transparent politician, not just president, that I have ever experienced!

You must remember he comes form a place of being very wealthy, and surrounded by “yes men” (and women).

Because of this he is arrogant, rude, not very chivalrous, and a bit demeaning toward others. He has not been groomed since childhood to suck up to people to get their votes, and doesn’t play well with others who attack him.

I would point out that because he doesn’t play the typical political games is why many people like him as a president.

Would I like a more distinguished, moral, and less-embarrassing person as our president?  Yes, if they still had the same remaining qualities.

Point blank, he gets things done!

I could go on and on, but you get where I am going.

This article is from some whiney-butt coward Republican, who can be compared to any child who apparently is not getting the attention they feel they deserve from their parents.

The last part goes for everyone who oppose our president, as well as the wussy who wrote this article.

To quote Senator Booker this morning during the Kavanaugh hearings, if you have something concrete on our president, “Bring it!”. Otherwise, shut up and let him do his job.

People on the left who merely whine and cry about anything and everything and try to pin them on our president demonstrate their lack of understanding. It’s the equivalent of when we were kids and they would say things like, “Oh ya, you’re a big meany”.

Our president is not a saint. Not a chivalrous person, loyal husband, or even a completely honest business man. But he is our president.

Unless he does something illegal, or corrupt, while in office, he should be allowed to do his job unmolested.

The literal avalanche of crap he has undergone so far speaks more about his strength as a person and leader compared to any previous president.

Give him some credit, and a little break.

I didn’t vote for President Obama, but I respected him as our president and hoped he would do a great job.

We should ALWAYS stand behind and support our president, regardless of who they are.  If they mess up while in the office, then certainly call them out on it.

Those of you who are in leadership positions at work, or in organizations.  Would you put up with, or like, a group of people in your organization actively working to attack every decision you make and trying to make you out to be a horrible person?

Guessing the answer is no.

Why are you backing the folks who are purposely trying to undermine our sitting president?

Take a good long look in the mirror.  If this is who you are, and you are happy with it, the problem isn’t our president. The problem is you.
