  1. You scored as The Operative.

    Just took the test.

RESULTS: 94 the operative. You are dedicated to your job and very good at what you do. You've done some very bad things, but they had to be done. You don't expect to go to heaven, but that is a sacrifice you've made for a better future for all.

It hit me right on the money! What a shame. lol!

  3. Regarding post title Down, Not Out: We have been spared so much by nature. We should really feel blessed. Considering that nature has only bequeathed upon a small amount of her power's upon us human beings. Recently I watched a special on the scablands in Washington. The great catastrophic floods they believed caused them. Not to mention "The Big Bang Theory" some scientist believe put us here in the first place and wiped out the dinosaurs completely. A couple of hurricanes and earthquakes is nothing that Nature may have in store for us.

  4. Why start with witches? Why not Gods? We were a people devoted to Goddesses, this is why the Venus statues are so prevalent in the hunter gather tribes. Females bore most of the responsibility as they still do being in charge of the children and family structure. They may have only gathered food but the men could be on the hunt for months out of the year so they were the guardians of the clan as well as the food supplies.

It wasn’t until we became an agricultural society that Gods made the scene. Now, Gods are jealous, demanding scarifies, of anything from food to lives. Giving more than you have makes you dependent and a sense that you owe someone for something. Who is that someone? The spiritual leaders, they know the will of god. Unlike you, they are close to God who claims to love all equally but loves the leaders just a little more equally than others.

Christianity comes around using the same tactics. Off something on the alter, food, animals, your children… Then this becomes impractical. Make the crowd offer something that is just as invisible as the god they serve. Off your soul. Soul, no one can see it or touch it. It is like your shadow but inside you. It is your conscious and all that is good about you.

Christianity has some good ideas, which are rarely used. Forgiveness, empathy, serving others as you would yourself but these are not the ideas that make us afraid. We need to sell the idea of hell. Fear allows us to go off and kill those who don’t think the way “WE” do. Fear allows us to hold ourselves above all others.

Christianity wasn’t popular in the beginning because they were very depressing people, no wine, women or song. The needed the pagans to follow so they started enveloping pagan traditions to show them this is the way but not radically different than what they were used to. They put gargoyles on churches so they would enter the dwellings. They adopted holidays like Saturnalia or as we know it today Christmas. (Jesus was born with the spring lamb… Not in the winter) They still employ this technique, Christian rock is a good example.

Here’s where witches fall into place, only GOD can heal. The healers were hunted down and killed for being false prophets or blasphemers. They were trying to usurp God’s greatness by doing it themselves. You still can find the traces of this in the religions that don’t believe in giving their kids penicillin.

It wasn’t just the old hags who knew medicine. It was also the young beautiful women. They would inspire lascivious thoughts in the minds of chaste men. The men knew they wouldn’t think this way naturally so….. They nipped the problem in the bud. They burned the witches at the stake.

The church realized they could gain power by calling a person with land a heretic and torturing them till they signed a confession which also gave them rights to their family’s fortune. The church expanded. This again, could only last so long. You can only kill off so many people before you inspire desertion in the ranks.

You create a place… Hell. Hell has every bad thing you can imagine. You don’t go into detail because your hell might be different. Which gives those with active imaginations so horrid stuff to fear. Hell isn’t a short term thing either and people who do things like…. Midwives are going to hell…. Medicine men are going to hell…. People who are skilled at healing or helping the body were targeted again. They didn’t have the faith to let GOD work his magic.
